Machinist Apprentice

Westdale Machine is currently seeking to hire a full-time Machinist Apprentice.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, product specifications and understand tolerances to determine machining and assembly operations.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to drawing.
- Communicate with engineering, supervision, and manufacturing personnel to exchange information regarding technical and quality aspects of the manufacturing process.
- Material handling and general assembly assistance.
- Use of precision measuring tools to ensure products meets customer requirements and/or specifications.
- Shop and/or equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Material or material processing pickups and drop-offs.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

- Good attention to detail.
- Critical thinking.
- Ability to work both as a team and individually.
- Self motivated and displays willingness to learn.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge and use of hand tools.
- Previous manufacturing and production experience is considered an asset.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in an accredited College in the General Machinist College of Trade Apprenticeship Program considered an asset.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Valid drivers license.

- Westdale Machine provides a comprehensive compensation package. Total remuneration package includes a competitive hourly pay rate, an extensive medical and dental program, including life insurance, and a defined contribution pension plan with company matched contributions.
- Hourly wage for this role will be between $20-$24/hr.
- 5 weeks total vacation (4 weeks vacation, 1 week of sick time).
