Role Definition:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background (3 years experience minimum) in operating, maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming of machinery and mechanical equipment such as CNC Lathes, Boring Mills, Truing Lathes and industrial machines. The successful candidate will possess expertise in utilizing various measuring tools, particularly micrometers.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Lead on new projects, develop procedures and hands on assembly of new product.
  • Operate and maintain industrial lathe machines to produce high-quality finished product.
  • Perform machining operations on metal components to achieve required dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances.
  • Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize production and maintain quality standards.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to assist in training and the troubleshooting of issues.

Qualifications:

  • Machinist (certified preferred) High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred.
  • Three (3) years proven experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools, specifically micrometers, for accurate dimensional inspection.
  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, precision, and quality craftsmanship.
  • Good communication and documentation skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Rate of pay $31.32p/hr with overtime after 40 hrs worked.
  • Comprehensive group benefits package fully funded by Ronsco, with RRSP contribution match up to 4%.
  • $800 retention bonus (paid after probation, subject to all applicable deductions)
