APPLICATION ANALYST - GREATER EDMONTON AREA
JOB POSTING # S2-23
Key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Application and business support duties which may include:
- Application deployment, configuration, and administration;
- Delivering incident and user request support;
- Responding to critical system alerts and escalating as required;
- Reviewing system capabilities, performing preliminary technical system testing, and performing data and report validation as appropriate;
- Maintaining and modifying system base control files;
- Liaising between IT staff, internal and external stakeholders;
- Maintaining existing, and developing new processes to support various systems;
- Analyzing business technical process gaps and information flow obstacles;
- Developing functional specifications and interpreting technical and business requirements and related documentation; and
- Analyzing and recommending new best system practices.
- Contribute to the Company's IT Architecture and Strategy Development by:
- Collaborating within the IT workgroup in annual road mapping and long-term planning efforts;
- Identifying and recommending new technology options.
Qualifications include:
- University Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology, or equivalent;
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of Business Applications Support experience and a minimum six (6) months of Operational Technology Systems support;
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license;
- Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft SharePoint;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent time management skills and task prioritization; and
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience in the utilities industry would be an asset; and
- Experience supporting customer information (CIS), financial, financial reporting, and budgeting systems would be an asset;
