Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent **Fuel Manager** to join our growing and ever-changing organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Fuel Manager plays a critical role in monitoring and further optimizing fuel efficiency at Flair Airlines. This position requires strong analytical background and proven project management skills, attention to detail, goal orientation, and also an understanding of jet fuel logistics and industry regulations.

The Fuel Manager works in an office environment with the ability to report to one of the Corporate Offices located in Vancouver, BC, Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB, or Toronto, ON. The Fuel Manager follows a standard work schedule and may be required to travel occasionally.

**Primary Job Functions**:
The duties of the **Fuel Manager **include:
***Fuel Procurement and Supply Chain**:

- Develop fuel procurement strategies to minimize fuel costs while ensuring an uninterrupted fuel supply for the airline's operations.
- Analyze fuel consumption patterns, flight schedules, and market conditions to accurately forecast fuel requirements.
- Collaborate with fuel suppliers and negotiate fuel contracts to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Monitor fuel inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely fuel deliveries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as flight operations, maintenance, and finance, to ensure smooth fuel operations.

**Fuel Quality and Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations related to fuel operations.
- Develop and implement procedures for fuel quality control and testing.

**Cost Optimization**:

- Monitor the overall fuel efficiency of the company based on various data sources
- Track implementation of various fuel savings initiatives
- Develop fuel-saving policies and ensure compliance with those policies by all employees and external partners.
- Lead the works of the permanent fuel efficiency group to identify new ways to enhance fuel efficiency.
- Collaborate with finance teams to develop budgets, monitor fuel costs, and report on variances.

**Reporting and Analysis**:

- Prepare regular reports on fuel consumption, costs, and operational performance indicators.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in fuel operations.
- Provide recommendations to the COO on fuel management strategies and initiatives.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the aviation industry with proven experience in fuel operations management, preferably with an Ultra-Low Cost Carrier.
- Strong knowledge of fuel procurement, supply chain management, and industry regulations.
- Familiarity with fuel monitoring systems and potential fuel-saving measures.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to fuel operations.
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience in business intelligence and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in establishing effective working relationships, and respect and credibility through actions.
- Proven ability to communicate in a clear, accurate, concise, and professional manner.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
