Job Function: Supply Chain Management

Reports to: Logistics & Operations Manager

Job Purpose:
The Logistics & Transportation Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing operational logistics and transportation of the company and training workers in duties and policies. The Supervisor is responsible for the daily management and coordination of dispatchers, drivers and workers of 3PL companies and transportation companies, managing daily, weekly, and monthly route schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and company's policies and regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

- Leading a team of Logistics & Transportation Specialists and manage their daily tasks
- Assisting in planning, organizing, arranging and overseeing logistics and transportation of the organization
- Assisting in maintaining SOPs with 3PL companies
- Assisting in maintaining shipping policies and inbound & outbound transportation procedures
- Assisting in bidding process, rates & tariff negotiation, agreement review, developing and contracting with various 3PL companies, transportation companies, shipping lines, customs brokers, couriers and drayage companies in order to select the most optimized vendors in cost and service
- Supervising and overseeing delivery schedules and routes of all the inbound and outbound transportation from the ports, CN, CP terminals to each RDC or to customers, or from each RDC to customers, and ensuring all arrives safely and on time within schedule
- Conducting cost analysis of several transportation companies for inbound and outbound shipments in order to select the most cost effective option
- Managing RDD and on-time delivery, and supervising and working with truckers to identify and resolve problems such as OS&D issues, late deliveries, loss claims, and other service issues
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining communication with 3PL companies, suppliers, trucking companies, custom brokers, couriers, sales forces and customers involved in logistics and transportation
- Preparing and presenting logistics and transportation cost analysis and reports regularly and if needed, and assisting with logistics and transportation budget preparation and administration
- Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management

Level of Accountabilities:

- Professional level position with impact on business-based decision making
- Directly supervises a team of Logistics & Transportation Specialists

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Superior time management and organizational skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Team player with good problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative with good initiative
- Superior customer-relation manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills

Qualifications:

- University Degree or College Diploma required in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related management disciplines
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
- Team leadership and team management experience in a similar role
