Overview:
As the Manager, Network Operations you are directly responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating support and operations services throughout the corporation. You will resolve operational issues related to IT infrastructure, communications infrastructure, operations, personal technology, and security. This involves working with third parties to provide operational leadership.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership and mentoring to promote a healthy and productive team environment.
- Contribute to the development of departmental strategic, operational, and tactical plans.
- Work in coordination with IT Management to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and support the department and division’s objectives.
- Plan for ongoing upkeep and maintaining currency of IT Network infrastructure.
- Provide leadership and direction to the following functions:
- On-Prem Network Infrastructure
- Cloud Network Infrastructure
- Communications Infrastructure
- IT Operations
- Security audit, compliance, investigation, and remediation
- Responsible for the activities of a manager, including input into and management of the departmental budget, participating in planning, budgeting for special projects, improvement initiatives, and long-term human resources planning.
- Responsible for workload planning, hiring, performance management and development planning of staff. Ensure technical expertise of the unit is maintained.
- Foster a high-performance team culture that is consistent with the corporate vision, values and leading practices.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Business or applied Science with a demonstrated record of continuing education in the Continuous Improvement, Information Technology and Leadership fields.
- Eight years of related experience in the IT Industry, including a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience, related to Cloud Network operations, On-Prem Network Operations, Telecommunications, IT support and operations management.
- Advanced knowledge of Cloud Networking Services such as Azure VPN Gateway, Azure Application Gateway, Web Application Firewall, Cloud DNS, Azure Bastion, Azure Peering Service and Azure Firewall configurations and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of migrating on-prem data centres to the Cloud.
- Empathy for clients who must continuously adapt to IT change.
- Detailed understanding and experience with:
- Managing support and operations staff of a medium-sized systems environment including, network, telecommunications, personal technology devices, and operations database, systems management and data centres.
- Complex, multi-platform environments including technologies such as Wintel, VMware / virtualized environments, Cloud and on prem network services and devices.
- Information Technology Governance frameworks, such as the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Safe Agile Framework (SAFe) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (CobiT).
