Packaging Supervisor
The core responsibilities include, but is not be limited to, the following:

- Operate packaging equipment, label applicator & filling machine
- Ensure that all employees are following safe practices by being proactive in their approach to safety inside and outside of work
- Supervise the packaging area employees by directing the activities of the team to provide the best support during each shift
- Ensure that the packaging area is operating as efficient as possible at all times in conjunction with changes in the process throughout each shift
- Ensure that all packaging area employees are properly trained to operate equipment, keep records, make timely communications, and to complete any other activity occurring in their area to maximize overall operational effectiveness
- Ensure that finished product quality, food safety, and overall sanitation procedures and practices are meeting specification or standards
- Ensure compliance to company policy, procedures, and processes
- Train team leads on all tasks and responsibilities
- Supervise team leads
- Manage schedules
- The role will require communication with Personnel, Specialists and Team Leads to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Daily mentorship of leadership roles within the packaging operations.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with changing and competing priorities
- Audit and approve employees’ hours and attendance
- Measure and report on department key performance indicators

Functional or Technical Skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to noise, odors and repetitive work
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
- Excellent documentation skills with strong attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and ability to follow directions
- Work well individually and in a team environment
- Self-driven and accountable work style
- Strong communication skills along with the ability to build solid relationships and capability to influence and negotiate
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Basic understanding of Cannabis Act and Regulations is considered an asset

**Experience**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a supervisory role
- Food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
- Previous experience in production, manufacturing or other related fields

**Education / Certifications**:

- Post-secondary education is an asset
