The School Age Educator is responsible for the provision of quality care and education to children in any one of our school age programs. We are an inclusive, multicultural, dynamic and collaborative child care setting which includes working with the other educators to plan and implement a progressive and an innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Other responsibilities include developing strong relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues, and implementing high standards of care and supervision that promote the well being of children of all abilities.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Completion of a 20 hour course (or willingness to attend training), or a combination of courses in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition.
- Willingness to provide emergent programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Early Learning Framework.
- Passion for constant learning in partnership with children, families and colleagues
- An eagerness to work as part of a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization
- Ability to guide, nurture and care for school age children of all abilities in an inclusive setting
- Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm and a sense of humor
- Experience working with special needs children is an asset
- Passion for ongoing professional development and growth
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

17.5 hours/week: 2:30 to 6:00pm, with an opportunity to workup to 8hrs/day on Professional Days and Summer Break.

**Rate and benefits**:$20.29-$21.36/hr plus Group Medical Benefits (EH, Dental), Company Pension Plan, and vacation and sick time for all permanent contracts**.**

**Start Date**: as soon as possible

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 17.5 per week

**Salary**: $20.29-$21.36 per hour
