Reporting to the Inclusion Services Coordinator, will be responsible for planning, implementing, and delivery of the Volt Hockey Inclusion program.
**Responsibilities**:
- Organize and facilitate Volt Hockey “Try It” sessions
- Organize and facilitate the Volt Hockey program
- Provide on-site supervision of the program and staff
- Develop practice plans based on the ability and dx of registered athletes
- Facilitate the Volt Hockey registered program by running activities, drills and scrimmages
- Teach athletes the rules of game play.
- Train and oversee Volt Hockey program staff
- Collaborate with the caregivers and participants to modify the programming and or the volt chair to promote success
- Connect and collaborate with other providers of Volt Hockey
- Attend practices and other Volt Hockey events at Variety Village
- Collaborate with service providers to maintain the carts
- Promote Volt Hockey within the community to increase awareness of the sport and recruit new athletes
- Create a “How To” manual about the implementation of a Volt Hockey Program. The manual will outline the steps taken by the City of Oshawa to successfully create and grow our Volt Hockey program. The manual will cover everything from the organization of “Try It” events, social media promotion, how to sheets for adjusting and adapting the volt chairs, practice plans, game ideas, and challenges faced.
- Provide support to Inclusion Services area, as required

**Requirements**:
- Knowledge and skill generally associated with the completion minimum 2 years towards post-secondary education in any of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and/or related experience. Knowledge of Volt Hockey is an asset.
- One (1) year of previous related job experience working with participants who have limited mobility or a physical disability. Experience with participants who use an electric/power wheelchair is an asset.
- Ability to modify the positioning of the participant in the volt cart with the use of posture cushions and wedges.
- Ability to recognize the need to and modify arm positioning to increase control of the joystick.
- Ability to recognize the need to and modify the joystick (type, size, sensitivity) to increase control of the volt cart.
- Competent and experienced with lifts and transfers.
- Knowledge of seizure disorders and related protocols.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Creative, energetic, flexible and patient.
