Under the supervision of the Manager, Environment, natural environments and biodiversity, the incumbent will monitor the legal requirements related to managing the compensation plan for the Contrecœur project. They will manage, implement and ensure the implementation of compensation plans for the Contrecœur project.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing compensation projects and supervising the expertise and studies entrusted to them, and to this end will:

- Supervise, coordinate and ensure that the studies carried out under their supervision comply with best practices, are accurate and take all necessary corrective measures to deliver a quality product, while respecting the deadlines and schedules.
- Do the preparatory work for awarding contracts for their projects and for any necessary technical expertise. They will also be responsible for estimating and monitoring the budgets for these various projects and/or studies and for substantiating requests for contract amendments when required.
- Follow up with suppliers and consultants during the bidding period. Participate in technical analysis of the bids received, make recommendations for awarding contracts on technical and organizational grounds and ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time and meet the expected quality requirements.
- Ensure the smooth execution of the projects in collaboration with the appointed persons and internal resources.

Furthermore, the incumbent will:

- Manage and monitor the work related to the compensatory measures required by permits and authorizations.
- Ensure follow-up and implementation of compensatory measures (compensation projects for wetlands, fish habitats, habitats of species at risk, species of fauna and flora, trees, etc.) in accordance with permits and authorizations obtained.
- Communicate and present the results of compensatory measures to the various stakeholders, including government agencies, CTC project committees and the First Nations.
- Take actions and conduct consultations with government agencies, stakeholders and First Nations for compensation projects.
- Participate in presentations and consultations with government agencies, stakeholders and First Nations.
- Consult and present the results of the environmental monitoring of compensation plans with government agencies, stakeholders and First Nations.

Represent the MPA on various Contrecœur project committees and to government authorities (IAAC, DFO, ECCC, MELCCFP, etc.).

Monitor changes in environmental standards and regulations (international, federal, provincial and municipal).

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or engineering (specialization in environment)
- At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in the environment and restoration and/or compensation projects for natural environments and wildlife habitats.
- Oral and written fluency in both French and English
- Geomatics knowledge or experience is an asset
- Ability to monitor and track a large number of files in progress
- Highly focused, analytical, and able to summarize information
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Analytical, communication, and coordination skills
- Strong capacity for teamwork
- Enjoys multidisciplinary work
