**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Equipment Maintenance and Repair**:

- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment, including conveyors, packaging machines, sorting equipment, and refrigeration units.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Replace or fabricate parts as needed to maintain equipment functionality.
- **Preventive Maintenance**:

- Execute preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and reduce the risk of breakdowns.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and update maintenance logs accordingly.
- **Installation and Upgrades**:

- Aide in installing new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, assembly, and calibration.
- Modify and upgrade equipment to improve efficiency, safety, or production capacity.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure that all work adheres to food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SQF, TSBC, WCB).
- Follow workplace safety protocols and aid in conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Assist with regular inspections to ensure compliance with food industry standards.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with production staff to understand equipment challenges and provide training on proper equipment use.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and contractors to complete large-scale projects.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education and Experience**:

- Certification as a Millwright or equivalent experience in a industrial environment.
- Experience in a food production, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an asset
- Experience with food-grade equipment is a strong asset.
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Proficient in reading blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
- Comfortable working in a production facility with varying temperatures and noise levels.

**Additional Information**:

- **Schedule**: Full time with optional OT in the summer months
- **Compensation**: Competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for professional development.
- **Location**: Abbotsford and Chilliwack - 3 sites.

Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay
