**Floral Assistant**

**Tasks**
- Process flowers upon arrival following proper care and handling procedures
- You will need to be comfortable using pruners, knives and scissors and follow safety procedures
- Assist walk-in customers
- Giftware items, clothing, order pickups, wrapping floral purchases, arranging custom cut flower bouquets, taking orders
- Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries and orders
- Prepare rentals for event set-ups
- Event setup and pickup - You will need a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be comfortable driving a cargo van throughout the city as well as out of town events
- Arranging cut flower bouquets and bud vases according to recipes and instructions to conform to the standard and design style of Floral Fixx
- You will be required to fill in Time Tracking sheets to monitor productivity - Productivity targets will be monitored by the managers and targets must be met to advance to the next design level
- Temperature variations - You will need to be able to work in the flower cooler with a temperature controlled environment (between 3-7 degrees Celsius) at different intervals during the day
- Pack floral arrangements and bouquets for the designers properly and securely
- Keep the store areas clean, organized and tidy
- You will need to learn the names of all of the varieties of flowers that we carry in the shop
- Ability to stand for your entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs periodically
- Must be able to take direction and work with a positive attitude

Must be available for weekend shifts and 1-2 days Monday to Friday. Must be available during our opening hours for shifts with flexibility for setups and pickups.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.80 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
