**Crisis Response Systems Navigator Job Description**
**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing emotional support and guidance to clients and their supports.
- Collaborate with community agencies to assess client needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and support provided.
- Utilize a client-centered approach using a trauma-informed lens.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including processing receipts, tracking expenses, and creation/maintenance of client files and records.
- Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills related to crisis intervention and client support. (e.g., court accompaniment, safer planning, bereavement, human trafficking, intimate partner violence, mental health first aid).
**Qualifications**
- Two years of proven experience in a similar field working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, addictions, violence, trauma, poverty, and/or discrimination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Knowledgeable of a variety of computer programs including Teams and SharePoint for the purposes of documentation and communication.
- Excellent time-management skills to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Assessing and accommodating the needs of clients are per AODA.
- Ability to communicate in other languages is an asset, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the experiences and challenges facing marginalized individuals.
- An inclusive, non-judgmental approach to client's needs and circumstances.
- Self-aware of personal limits with knowledge and utilization of healthy coping mechanisms.
- A compassionate approach to client-centered care, demonstrating empathy and understanding during crisis situations.
- Ability to obtain a vulnerable sector check with police.
- Valid G license and a reliable vehicle insured with $2,000,000 liability.
This position is essential for ensuring that individuals facing crisis receive immediate support which can help minimize the impact of trauma and support recovery and success after violence, crime, and tragic circumstances.
