The Student Support & Case Management department within Wellness and Well-being helps students who are experiencing challenges get back to thriving by facilitating a coordinated response at both the individual and community level. We support students in navigating resources and making informed decisions. **Responsibilities**: Reporting to the Manager, Student Support and Case Management, the Gender-Based Violence & Survivor Support Case Manager supports students who have experienced sexual violence. The role is the initial point of contact for students of gender based sexual violence and acts as a support for their expressed interest. The Case Manager provides comprehensive, trauma-informed response and coordinated support services to students disclosing incidents of gender based sexual violence including, but not limited to, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, as well as gender-based or gender-identity-based harassment. The Case Manager provides consultation and advice to survivors and facilitates referrals for services tailored to individual needs, including providing crisis triage and referral, imparting information about the legal and dispute framework, and ensuring survivors are informed of their rights and of the available resources, both within and outside of the University. The role has accountability for providing case management and planning for identified students, and to support them as they progress through University and community support systems and processes. The role is central to the university’s efforts to increase people’s experiences of feeling safe on campus and in eliminating gender based sexual violence on campus. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a closely related field - Current professional licensure in professional field of certification is preferred **Experience**: - Five years’ experience working in youth health or education sectors (including secondary / postsecondary education, health care, or not-for-profit community-based organizations with a sexual violence related mandate) with specific experience in preventing and/or responding to sexual violence through education programs, teaching, or counselling - Experience leading complex policy and project initiatives, preferably in a university or other large, multi-stakeholder environment is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Proven leadership and counselling skills - Current awareness and understanding of new and relevant information related to the field - Ability to work with students with diverse life and school experiences; demonstrated commitment to the values of cultural humility - Awareness of self-care tools, and ability to initiate, implement and practice a self-care - Demonstrated knowledge and skill in attending, empathy, problem solving and evidence-based strategies in responding to disclosures of sexual violence - Strong client-service orientation with a proven ability to receive, retain and clearly transmit information related to disclosures of gender-based violence - Discretion, compassion, empathy and tact in dealing with confidential information - Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including strong presentation skills - Ability to work well under pressure with excellent time management and organizational skills - Strong team skills complimented by the ability to work independently - Advanced computer skills, including creativ
