Manage administrative staff
- Lead recruitment and hiring process
- Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, vacation, and other personnel packages
- Manage succession planning
- Manage return to work, modified work and the accommodation processes to ensure compliance
- Investigate allegations of misconduct
- First line of contact for staff members who may have work or personal related concerns. Identify possible solutions and follow-up as necessary
- Payroll preparation, reporting, remittances, T4 preparation and vacation accrual
- Prepare financial budgets and performance statements
- Implement procedures and processes that ensure efficient financial management
- Control and safeguard all accounting records and assets with proper backups, signing authority, checking and reporting systems
- Assist external auditors with preparation of annual financial reports - Manage Accounts Payable and Receivables
- Manage Trust and Firm Accounts, including monthly reconciliation of the same
- Report to Managing Partner on Firm’s overall performance
- Manage technology systems and facilities
- Previous experience in a Law Firm setting/preferred
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete day-to-day projects in a timely fashion
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with little or no supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work at all levels with confidence, a positive attitude and an aptitude for gaining credibility quickly
