Although the position to be staffed is an SSHRC position, please note that the Evaluation Division is a joint division which serves both Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

**Job Summary**:
Performance and review services on evaluation-related issues to senior management for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Councils’ programs, and provision of research, analyses and strategic advice to ensure sound and evidence-based decision-making by NSERC’s and SSHRC’s senior management.

**Statement of Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

**Experience**:
Experience in planning and conducting studies and analyses to evaluate program performance
Experience in the use of specialised evaluation techniques, both qualitative and quantitative
Experience in analysing data, synthesising findings and presenting them to clients
Experience in working with a centralised corporate database would be an asset

**Knowledge**:
Knowledge of federal performance and evaluation policies and standards
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
Knowledge of methods of statistical analysis
Knowledge of the university research environment, the research process and the process of transfer of research results to the user sectors would be an asset.
