**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our Finance and Accounting team in Vancouver, BC. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the Controller in maintaining the integrity of financial information.

**PLEASE NOTE** - This is full-time permanent, Work From Home position

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the supervisory function of: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations. and variance analysis.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and update accounting systems and software (Sage and ADP Workforce).

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software/ERP. Experience with Sage 50 and ADP Workforce is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis with particular emphasis in the Financial Service/Lending Reporting industry is an asset.
