Hatch Kids Learning Centre offers PreK (30 months to 5 years old) and school-aged (5 to 12 years old) programs in the heart of Richmond, BC. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and the emergent curriculum, with a focus on children emotional, social, and academic growth. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Educator to lead our new licensed PreK daycare program.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic leader who will collaborate with educators on their team to create a unique curriculum catered to the children in the program. You are punctual and responsible with good organizational and leadership skills. You are fun, engaging, and flexible, but also comfortable with setting classroom limits and expectations. You are confident in working in a program with up to 25 children ages 30 months to 5 years old and are interested in being a hands-on facilitator in their learning.

**Duties Responsibilities**:

- Lead the team in planning, developing, evaluating, and implementing an emergent curriculum that is enriching, inclusive and developmentally appropriate
- Responsible for the leadership, supervision, and execution of the program, including special events and field trips
- Ensure that the programs adhere to all licensing regulations
- Establishing guidelines for proper supervision of all participants that ensure their safety at all times, including indoor & outdoor time
- Establish positive, safe, and secure relationships with students, attending to each child’s physical, social, and emotional needs
- Ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete (daily & monthly attendance, emergency drill logs, communication book, etc.)
- Provide direct leadership to the PreK program with a focus on building a strong team
- Coach, develop and support staff and volunteer teams to achieve excellence in service delivery
- Ensure all staff fulfill checklist responsibilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with families, teachers, licensing officers, community agencies and other service providers
- Document student’s learning progress and communicate with families and the team regarding student progress and development
- Desire to continue to learn and grow as an educator and team leader with being in-tune with changing licensing guidelines and educational frameworks and philosophies
- Keeping program facilities and equipment safe, clean, organized, and in good repair (indoor & outdoor)

**Requirements**:

- A valid ECE certificate
- Current Standard/Childcare First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate
- A clear criminal record check
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children ages 30 months to 5 years old
- An up-to-date immunization record

Employment terms:

- Full-time, 40 hrs/week. Monday to Friday, 9 hour rotating shifts between 7:45am to 6:00pm
- Salary: $22-$27/hour depending on experience plus 4% vacation pay. $6 wage enhancement in addition to this hourly wage so long as Hatch Kids Learning is approved to be included in this program

Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and hold valid permits to work in Canada.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
