We are looking for staff members able to work between 30-40 hours a week, with open availability Monday through Sunday between the hours of 6:30am-6:30pm. We do not have evening shifts available.

As a member of the Front of House team, you will have an opportunity to work in each of our point-of-sale service areas taking customer orders, entering POS transactions and handling payments:

- At our Bagel counter, serving up hot bagels fresh out of the oven;
- At our Café counter, taking orders for our restaurant and coffee bar and preparing hot and cold beverages and specialty coffees;
- At our Deli counter, slicing deli meat to order, serving a variety of specialty pastries, gourmet cheese and other treats.

**Success factors in all service areas include**:

- providing customers with recommendations and suggestions, displaying excellent knowledge of our menu and product offering throughout the store
- proactively greeting and engaging with customers to inform and educate them regarding promotions, specials and store events
- actively participating in promotional activity within the store such as sampling and food demonstrations
- displaying a high level of energy and initiative in interacting with customers and addressing concerns, complaints or hesitancy about purchases and all things Bagelshop
- entering POS transactions and taking Café orders quickly and accurately, handling cash and payment transactions responsibly
- being dependable, punctual, flexible and meeting daily challenges and hectic rush periods with a smile and “can do” attitude

We are Ottawa’s destination for Montreal-style bagels, hot out of the wood burning oven every day. Our kitchen specializes in made-to-order hot and cold bagel sandwiches, tapping into our broad assortment of European deli meats, our own house-roasted meats and made from scratch sides and condiments. Our retail space carries a wide range of specialty packaged foods, snacks, “brunchables” and food related gift items—which rotate on a seasonal basis and are often focused around holidays and family & community oriented celebrations.

Pay: $16.55-$18.00 per hour
