Service Manager

**Position Overview**

We are mid-sized full-service marina located in Britt, ON. We are nestled among some of Georgian Bay's best boating, and have a wide range of boaters - from small aluminum cottage boats to 60'+ cruising boaters. The Service Manager will oversee the delivery of service requests. They are someone who can lead, with the ability to organize, train and assist in the operations of the service department and parts department. He/she must be capable of managing the entire service operation including shop assignments, personnel and standards of performance and work output to satisfy customer’s needs and requests. The Service Manager will liaise with customers and service technicians to ensure accurate communication of problems. Additionally, they will assist in the diagnose & recommend repairs, estimate repairs & parts cost and estimate completion dates.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Supervise and schedule service work according to priority and maintain an orderly flow of work
- Supervise the training of all service technicians with in-house training programs
- Identify, budget for, and acquire critical tools and equipment for completion of service work
- Assist service personnel to diagnose troubles or problems
- Advise customers of necessary repair service including estimates of cost and make recommendations for preventative maintenance
- Handle customer complaint problems pertaining to service and repair work
- Develop service advertising and promotion programs
- Responsible for drafting department sales and operating budget
- Works in co-ordination with the Parts, and Sales departments, office and management
- Provide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe experience
- Maintain updated knowledge of products, industry trends, and methods by attending Trade Shows and Training Programs
- Promote a positive, healthy, safe and harassment free work environment
- Develop and implement Wright's Marina environmental management policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the Service Department
- Ensure accuracy and cleanliness of service work on customer boats
- Carry out any other duties that may be requested by the General Manager to operate the facilities at Wright's Marina
- Understand and practice all Wright's workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Report and document any incidents and or safety concerns directly and immediately to your supervisor
- Ability to produce service estimates
- Ability to handle the service process from the point of customer contact to cashiering, and closing service work orders

- Report any incidents and/or accidents directly and immediately to your supervisor

**Requirements**:

- Experience in marine industry is an asset including working knowledge of boats and marine systems
- Possession of a valid G license is preferred
- Valid Pleasure Craft Operators card is an asset
- Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset
- Must be available to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, including some weekends
- Experience with LightSpeed computer software or a marine oriented POS system considered an asset
- Knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly is an asset
- Must possess superior customer service skills
- Must work well as a team and individually
- Must be computer literate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate vessels ranging in length from 16 feet to 50 feet, both Sail & Power
- Ability to run diagnostic software for Mercury, Volvo Penta, Diacom etc

**Working Conditions**:

- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Significant exposure to varying weather conditions both on water and on land, Heat, Cold, Rain, Snow
- May encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipment
- Will encounter obnoxious smell from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuel
- Will encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicals

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
