**Overview**:
Leads strategic human resource planning in a manner that conforms to our business culture and overall company goals and objectives. Develops and implements all Human Resource programs/policies and procedures.
More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
- Develops and administers long term strategic human resource plans throughout the location and acts in capacity of advisor to the business
- Demonstrate the ability to have a positive impact on business results
- Advises management of significant developments in employment law
- Ensures legal compliance throughout human resources
- Develops sound working relationships with union officials in keeping with corporate culture
- Analyses, plans, co-ordinates and negotiates the collective bargaining process
- Acts in the capacity of liaison with legal counsel
- Develops company positions and formulates settlement terms where appropriate
- Manages HR planning process changes in Organizational structure and staffing requirements and information
- Directs the administration of all phases of hourly and salaried benefits, employee recognition programs, service awards, and other performance recognition programs
- Provides strategic planning for security and provides recommendation to Management
- Create/maintain Job Descriptions for any and all direct reports
**Requirements**:
- Requires Bachelors Degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or Industrial Relations- 10 years progressive Human Resources experience in all facets of human resources- 5+ years’ HR experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably Custom Manufacturing)- 5+ years’ HR experience in a Union environment
