Resident Care Aide

Come join our team. We are hiring Resident Care Aides to join our growing team. Our pay rate, which includes in lieu of benefits and vacation starts at $31.65.

**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Maintain cleanliness in resident living areas and common spaces to promote a safe and hygienic environment.
- Support residents with mobility assistance and encourage participation in social activities.
- Monitor residents’ health and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
- Engage with residents suffering from dementia through appropriate care techniques tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while respecting the dignity of each resident.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and perform tasks that may require lifting or moving individuals safely.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized living space for residents.
- Understanding of working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.

St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC) is home to Hotel Dieu Hospital and St. Joseph's Villa. Located in downtown Cornwall, Ontario, SJCCC offers Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care services to adults at its 208-bed state-of-the-art healthcare facility.
