Community Events Specialist Career Opportunity

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Community Relations & Events Specialist for our Marketing Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB.

As a Community Events Specialist you will be responsible for coordinating events and building community partnerships. You will plan, develop, and coordinate brand-wide community initiatives and grassroots marketing events in specific markets. You will assist with the development and administration of corporate social responsibility initiatives, including administration of our Dream Big and Hope to Dream Foundations.

**As the Community Events Specialist, you will**:
Manage internal and external events, including coordinate venue management, developing work plans, leading implementation, and final analysis

**Produce detailed proposals for external events (e.g.**: timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)

Conduct post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders)

Develop event ‘guidebooks’ and ‘Standard Operating Procedures’

Collaborate with external vendors and non-profit organizations, internal stakeholders, and other key team members

Provide regular updates to stakeholders

Collaborate with internal marketing and communications to promote and publicize the events

Liaise with regional sales teams, investigating local opportunities to integrate more into the community

Support in-store special events that are designed to drive brand awareness and promote foot traffic

Create communication materials including key messages, FAQs, and presentations

Prepare and implement communication, engagement, and outreach strategies to promote projects

Plan and execute in-person and virtual meetings

Evaluate the effectiveness of engagement programs and services

Collect and enter data related to online engagement and surveys

Collate and manage community engagement reporting

Three years event coordination, event marketing or other relevant experience

Post-secondary degree or Event Coordinator diploma

Experience in corporate, non-profit or government event planning

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Solid understanding of marketing principles and practices

Able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision

Strong organized skills and detail oriented

Creative problem-solver, able to quickly think on their feet

Able to manage and adapt to multiple projects and deadlines

Superior computer skills, with proficiencies in Microsoft Office and project management tools?

Some evening and weekend work may be required depending on the event

Travel may be required
