Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Waypoint Research Institute is currently seeking a Temporary Full Time Research Coordinator. The incumbent will carry out a range of research activities within the Waypoint Research Institute. The project that the incumbent will support is a large-scale project focusing on services for people affected by intimate partner violence. The position may involve the following activities, including coordinating research activities from project initiation to completion, supporting the project management, and assisting in the program development and evaluation.

Located at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in Penetanguishene, Ontario, the WRI contributes to the field of mental health by providing strategic leadership on research and academic issues; facilitating innovating science and high quality applied research that aligns with Waypoint priorities; fostering partnerships and research collaborations across Ontario, in Canada and internationally; prioritizing knowledge translation that improves mental health and addictions care; and offering mentorship opportunities for students and trainees in a unique facility.

**Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON**

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Provide operational and administrative support for the research project mentioned above, including program development, project tracking, reporting, and coordination/following up on timelines and deliverables.
- Provide expertise in project management.
- Provide support in developing and evaluating mental health services (digital and in-person) for people affected by intimate partner violence, community engagement and knowledge mobilization events and products.
- Identify potential stakeholders, partners, and collaborators for the project and build relationships with other organizations/institutions and external researchers; liaise with community partners, government agencies and funding agencies
- Contribute to various corporate performance indicators for the Waypoint Research Institute and support the preparation of internal reports, documents and written material.

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s degree health or social sciences, or a related field
- Previous direct involvement in mental health program provision/development and/or experience coordinating mental health program required
- Previous experience in a mental health and addictions or intimate partner violence field preferred
- Demonstrated experience coordinating mental health program required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, to produce proposals, reports, presentations, publications and metrics.
- Knowledge of general accounting and finance processes in order to develop and monitor budgets to support the financial aspects of proposals and budgets being developed.
- Knowledge of research reporting guidelines and journal styles for the publication of various research designs in order to support development of high quality publications.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to work with teams and facilitate collaborative research projects.
- Excellent communication skills in order to liaise with various operational units and administrative divisions within and externally to the hospital to ensure the success and progression of the research project.
- Written and verbal communication/presentation skills in order to collaborate with internal/external partners, conduct information or education sessions, and share performance data.
- High level of energy and flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills in order to align funding opportunities with the current research projects.
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
