**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Foreman, Roads Services, the Operator I is responsible for the operation and minor maintenance of the City’s light equipment. This position performs a variety of work functions for the maintenance of municipal infrastructure including roads, bridges, culverts, drainage, sidewalks, traffic control and other related duties as assigned. As this is a winter season position, the focus will be on snow clearing.

**Responsibilities**:

- of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Snow removal of City parking lots.
- Snow clearing of roadways.
- Minor maintenance and washing of equipment.
- Traffic control for roadway operations, highways and City streets.
- Spring clean-up sweep of City parking lots and medians.
- Crack seal, clean and maintain asphalt surfaces.
- Inspect and repair roads, sidewalks, highways, signs and traffic lights.
- Operate single axle dump truck (1 ton and 3 ton), sidewalk miller and line painter.
- Maintain storm sewer catch basins, manholes and mains.

**Qualifications**:
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. A current Driver’s Abstract will be required at the time of interview.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (varying shifts which may include days, evenings, & weekends)

Duration: November 4, 2024 - March 29, 2025
