The Care Coordinator serves as an active participant on the Kenora Human Trafficking CARE Team and supervises the CARE workers at AAFS. This position ensures agency services align with Ontario’s anti-human trafficking strategy and adheres to legislative requirements, Ministry standards, and AAFS policies and procedures. Care Coordinator reports to Director of Services in all aspects.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Aligned with AAFS’s mission to protect Anishinaabe Abinoojii (Anishinaabe children) and support the healing, wellbeing, and strengthening of families, the Care Coordinator will:

- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment through effective communication, integrity, professional excellence, and respect for diversity.
- Support recruitment, resource allocation, scheduling, and labor relations while building a cohesive, well-trained team that collaborates to achieve program goals.
- Support program evaluation, coordination with the Kenora Human Trafficking CARE Team, and collaboration with partners to protect at-risk youth and provide community education on human trafficking.
- Contribute to organizational initiatives, community representation, and team support while engaging in strategic planning and professional development.

**QUALIFICATION**
- Bachelor’s degree in social service with fives (5) years related experience is preferred, however a combination of related education, experience and skills may be considered.
- Knowledge and comprehension of First Nation cultural beliefs, values and norms, ceremonies, teachings and a commitment to promote a culturally competent program.
- Strong knowledge of the structure and operations of Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services, Grand Council Treaty #3, and First Nations in the Kenora area.
- Proven leadership, supervisory, and management skills.
- Strong understanding of child welfare policies, the Child and Family Services Act, and related legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of human trafficking, especially as it intersects with child welfare and Indigenous communities.
- Familiarity with the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Report (MMIWG) and a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant database programs.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Working knowledge and experience in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite, and service-based systems
- Excellent time management with the ability to plan accordingly to flocculate project timelines and goals.
- Must possess a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License, be willing to travel and provide a Drivers Abstract; and
- Ability to speak Ojibway is considered a definite asset.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours. Able to work on a computer for long periods of time. Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress. Travel to semi-remote Anishinaabe communities on rough and winding class “C” roadways.
