Training Program Coordinator

**Overall Role**:
The Training Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, management, and reporting on all training projects. The Training Program Coordinator is also responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating training plans and programs supporting various construction projects in the region, including the Twinning of Highway 17. Finally, the Training Program Coordinator provides ongoing support to the project staff to help ensure that the pre-employment skills development, skill training programs, employment placement and retention, and other holistic needs of the trainees are met. The Training Program Coordinator reports directly to the General Manager.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
a) Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business or Education is preferred. Equivalent work experience would be considered.
b) Experience working on and managing large projects.
c) Experience developing and/or implementing training or education programs.
d) Strong analytical and quantitative skills to develop reporting tools.
e) Previous involvement in local labor and mentorship programs/opportunities.
f) Experience in developing, implementing, and following work plans, budgets, and timetables.
g) Management experience is considered an asset.
h) Ability to collaborate and effectively supervise project staff.
i) Ability to collaborate with member communities, employment partners, training delivery organizations and other organizations.
j) Knowledge of Anishinaabe language, culture, traditions, and local communities is preferred.
k) Valid driver’s license.
**Duties**:
a) Establish and maintain formal accountability processes with the Board, Chief and Councils, the communities and Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD).
b) Establish and maintain a project advisory committee.
c) Establish and maintain a project administrative office and training centre.
d) Develop and implement an annual project workplan and budget.
e) Supervise all project staff.
f) Work with employment partners and the communities to develop and/or refine training programs to meet the needs of the First Nations and Niiwin Wendaanimok Limited Partnership.
g) Coordinate support to address the holistic needs of the project participants.
h) Coordinate the development and implementation of individual participant training and employment plans.
i) Coordinate with project employment partners to identify work placements.
j) Coordinate the implementation of all required training programs.
k) Coordinate all community-based pre-employment skills training and support.
l) Coordinate employment retention supports for participants.
m) Complete and communicate all required project reports to the Board.
n) Manage Human Resources for Niiwin Wendaanimok Limited Partnership.
o) Communicate regularly with project partners.
p) Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the project by the Board and/or General Manager.
Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
