Junior Technician

**About the Position**:
This is an entry level full time position with opportunities for on-the-job learning. The **Technician** will be responsible for performing on-site gas detection system service, calibrations and installations. Duties include conducting system diagnostics, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, testing and calibrating gas detection equipment, providing training and guidance to junior technicians, and maintaining accurate documentation of service activities. This is an entry level job with opportunities for on-the-job learning.

**Responsibilities**:

- Travel to client sites to complete required work.
- Complete on-site training and task completion, sharing your knowledge and skills with colleagues.
- Promptly report any on-site issues or potential concerns to the appropriate parties on-site.
- Conduct equipment monitoring for maintenance, safety, and operational concerns, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Clean up the work site at the end of each workday; ensure the proper disposal of all refuse.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of all work materials.
- Ensure to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Work in cooperation with other trades and labourers to ensure all specifications, legislation, and policies are met.
- Has working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and follows safe work practices.
- Keep up to date on changing technology and techniques that are relevant to the trade.

**Qualifications**:

- Possess personable and friendly customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills oral and written.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Clean, professional demeanour, an individual that take pride in workmanship (Perform tasks correctly)
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Provide their own tools
- Be able to pass Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing, Fit-to-Work test & Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
- Current certifications such as First Aid, Arial Platform, Fall Arrest are considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with fixed gas detection equipment including manufacturers equipment such as Honeywell, Armstrong, QEL, Belimo, Airtest, CET, Greystone, Senva etc is considered an asset but it not required.

**Other**:

- Must be able to commute to our location (7704-71 Street, Edmonton, Alberta) & various client sites to complete work
- Permanent full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Regular OT available for after-hours and weekend work are also possibility in this position
