**BRENRIC CONSTRUCTION LTD. is a family oriented, culture-focused construction management company serving the Greater Victoria, BC region since 1983. We're looking for a Project Coordinator to join us**
**Overview**
As Project Coordinator, you are extremely organized and an excellent time manager. You fortify our projects team by maintaining all project documentation, monitoring onsite progress, handling sub contractor communications, and managing close out tasks. Your work is 75% in the office and 25% on the road.
This role is great for someone who wants to work with a fun team, hopes to learn about the commercial construction industry, and who approaches their work with a strong sense of ownership and community.
**Responsibilities**
Assist Project Managers in the development of project management documents such as RFP's, project budgets, project schedules, scope statements and project plans
Execute project management administrative and bookkeeping tasks such as managing invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents
Supervise the project procurement process
Meet with subcontractors to assess their needs and define project requirements, acceptance criteria and project timelines
Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time
Assign tasks to team members and help them understand what’s expected from them in terms of project milestones and deliverables
Help project managers monitor project progress and provide updates to project stakeholders
Attend stakeholder meetings, take clear minutes, and distribute
Manage sub-contractors by monitoring and controlling performance
Schedule and attend site inspections at critical phases
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different tasks; exploring opportunities to add value to our operations
**Skills**
Communication skills: Project coordinators interact with many individuals throughout the life cycle of a project, such as project managers, consultants, and sub contractors. Confident communications are essential to maintaining project momentum.
Problem-solving skills: There will be issues, challenges and different types of problems, big and small. For this reason, project coordinators must have problem-solving skills that allow them to quickly come up with solutions and strategies.
Change management skills: As projects are executed, there are many variables to control, and many situations that will shift the course of a project from its original plan. Coordinators need to be nimble and comfortable switching gears when this happens.
Organizational skills: Project coordination requires incredible organizational skills, particularly for document management and sub contractor scheduling. This skill leans on good digital literacy as well.
Knowledge of general construction processes: project set up; subcontract management; change orders; RFIs
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
