The Assistant Transportation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day transportation activities for Domain Logistics. They will support above policies and procedures, will be responsible for all transportation related administrative functions for the site. They will serve as a company representative on regulatory issues and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.

**JOB SCOPE / RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Daily overseeing and volume planning of Outbound delivery schedules including knowledge of retail deliveries requirements and possible challenges while ensuring the best customer experience.
- Outbound planning and building of schedules utilizing in house systems (Manhattan Scale and TMS)
- Inbound and Backhaul understanding, planning and support
- Understanding of all aspects of the online Inbound appointment booking system (Data Docks)
- Daily communication with carriers to assist in transport related issues and communicate directly with other key stakeholders if required. (E-com and Wholesale)
- Plan and lead meetings with both internal and external teams
- Provide operations information flow and recommend strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production schedules, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; and identify trends.
- Communicates customer issues with operations team and devises ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints. (Internal and external)
- Works closely with Transportation Manager and Domain Management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Communicates all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.
- Maintains training and development of assigned staff in accordance with Domain policies and procedures.
- Communicate job expectations, including monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
- Develop individuals for future advancement.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all legal regulations.
- Support and involvement client and all related partners to improve business process or opportunities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish a personal positive rapport with both internal and external teams
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
- Owns value stream to meet customer demands and expectations regardless of functional and department boundaries
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Sound organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met with an accurate work product
- Previous work experience in a supply chain environment with a good working knowledge of different transportation routing systems and government regulations required.
- Inbound planning and backhaul experience an asset.
- Previous experience in a supervisory / Management role an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, with the ability to import and extract data from a variety of systems.
- Communication proficiency, written and oral.
- Completion of secondary school or college diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred.

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
