**INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST**
Vacant Position - 8 hours per day; full year
Effective immediately

Wages commensurate with Job Band 7 ($62,092.76-$75,474.14)

The Information Technology Specialist will report to and work under the direction of the Coordinator of Information Technology. The successful applicant will possess strong skills in the following areas: flexibility, adaptability, team building, strong oral and written communication skills, well-developed decision making abilities and creative problem solving abilities, as well as respect for diversity and confidentiality.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide specialized technical support and advanced problem solving to support AVRCE Information Technology staff & systems;
- Design, configure, administer, and monitor AVRCE networks, information technology devices and systems;
- Maintain reliability and security of AVRCE networks, information technology devices and systems;
- Responsible for information technology disaster recovery, including performing and testing data backups;
- Responsible for identifying potential issues related to the effective operation of existing information technology systems and developing strategies for resolution;
- Develop and maintain documentation of network, hardware and software configuration;
- Plan and lead information technology projects;
- Maintain patch management program for installing software upgrades;
- Maintain a current awareness and knowledge of information technology trends;
**Qualifications**:
- Successful completion of a Technology Training and Support program from a university, community college or other recognized institution (or equivalent) is required.
- 5+ years experience working in information technology support preferred. Including 2+ years experience with a strong focus on wired and wireless network design, configuration and support preferred.
- A strong understanding of TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless networks required.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting technologies including Windows, Azure M365, Active Directory, PowerShell, and Fortinet.
- Experience with automation using scripting.
- Previous experience providing technical support in an educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and principals desirable.
- Desired certifications: CCNA/CCNP, NSE, MCSE, Security+, CEH or equivalents.
- A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License is required.
