The Coordinator of Educational Technology & Student Data is responsible for the coordination and administration of all aspects of technology applicable to education. The Coordinator shall be responsible for; but not limited to, managing, organizing, supporting, supervising and providing direction to staff regarding Inschool information systems and technology integration at all levels of the school system. The Coordinator will be a member of multiple provincial committees and will work with staff to focus on enhancing the use of technology in meeting educational outcomes.

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Valid Nova Scotia teacher’s license;
- Masters Degree in Education, or Administration/Leadership (or equivalent combination of education and experience);
- Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience;
- Five (5) years of experience in leadership/management positions requiring the supervision of staff;
- Knowledge of best assessment and instructional practice;
- Training and experience in facilitating meetings to achieve appropriate action planning and programming that meets the well-being; physical health, mental health, social-emotional and educational needs of students;
- Training and experience in the management of Inschool systems at the district level, which specifically includes PowerSchool; PowerTeacher Pro; School Messenger; PowerSchool Insights and Analytics; and PowerSchool Contacts;
- Experience with database management, coding, and data analytic tools;
- Proven leadership abilities and organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
- Well-developed decision-making and creative problem-solving ability;
- Superior ability to stimulate professional growth of staff, through effective professional development programs;
- Superior skills in budget management and in the supervision of teaching and other staff;
- Has a broad knowledge of and the ability to use current and appropriate technology in developing strong partnerships between the AVRCE and the Departments of Education and Early Childhood Development to support the implementation of programs designed to augment student well-being, physical health, mental health, social-emotional and educational success;
- Demonstrated discretion with proven ability to handle confidential matters.

**Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**:

- Responsible to lead the implementation of the PSP and Provincial Inclusion Policy working with principals to ensure schools have as a priority a strong goal-focused implementation, reporting and accountability approach to continuous improvement;
- Coordinate with the AVRCE Information Technology division to ensure a balance of access, safety, and security with technology integration;
- Manage and coordinate all technology-based programs in the AVRCE, monitor services, determine needs and priorities, and provide for staff development relative to the position;
- Design and implementation of a comprehensive professional development model that supports effective instruction and increased student achievement;
- Monitor, assess, evaluate and report on student progress, work with principals on expectations, communicate results to plan and implement actions for improvement;
- Work closely with Regional coordinators in the effective use of student achievement data to support Regional and program priorities while actively promoting the integration of services and supports among Programs and Services division;
- Act as the Regional centre’s representative at the provincial table and work collaboratively with the Regional Supervisors of Technology; Google Apps for Education; and Inschool Project Managers groups while being aware of the specific technology needs for students in the AVRCE;

- Information Economy Initiative liaison;
- iNSchool Advisory Committee;
- Early Development Instrument implementation and follow-up.
