**The Role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate site safety meetings and participate/co chair Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings across all sites.
- Record and distribute minutes from safety and JHSC meetings to relevant personnel.
- Track, manage and coordinate training requirements for company employees to ensure compliance with legislative and company mandates based on employee job profile.
- Manage the acquisition and distribution of Health and Safety equipment and supplies.
- Assist the Human Resource department with new employee onboarding and safety orientation.
- Collaborate with construction department to ensure safety certifications and paperwork are obtained from contracted trades and maintain accurate records of documents.
- Act as a point of contact for health and safety needs across all company sectors and perform additional tasks to support department goals.
- Performing other responsibilities as required to support department goals.
- Setting up new project safety requirements, including the establishment of a Health and Safety board, coordinating signage, and other related tasks.
- Occasionally assist the Health and Safety Officer during on site inspections and incident investigations as you grow in the role.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety/a related field or equivalent safety designation for construction is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable OHSA, Construction regulation O.Reg 213/91 and environmental legislation is preferred.
- Joint Health and Safety Certification part one and sector specific part two (construction) is preferred.

Experience
- 1-3 years of experience supporting health and safety compliance in an organization, preferably within the construction industry.
- Experience utilizing construction software systems such as eCompliance, Newstar, Builder MT, and Mark Systems is an asset.
- Understanding of Construction Processes and terminology is an asset

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Highly organized with exceptional excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks and
- Ability to adopt new technologies.
- Ability to travel to construction sites when required.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
