**Position Summary**:
Join our team as an**Internal Communications Advisor, where you’ll play a crucial role in creating dynamic, transparent, and strategic internal communications that keep employees informed and engaged. You'll work closely with internal clients to craft and implement a communication plan that aligns with organizational priorities. By building relationships with stakeholders you will understand upcoming projects, address potential communication bottlenecks, and proactively recommend strategies to enhance organizational success.
Your efforts will include creating engaging written and visual content, such as key messages, intranet articles, all-staff newsletters, and multimedia assets like videos and infographics, in partnership with the Graphic Designer. With editorial oversight of the intranet, you’ll also be at the forefront of keeping internal platforms fresh and effective. You’ll also be responsible for recommending improvements to intranet content and processes.
You'll monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies through feedback and analytics, adjusting tactics as needed to drive engagement and meet organizational goals. As a trusted advisor, you’ll develop and maintain event planning resources and participate on select event planning and social committees. **Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution on corporate communications, marketing, public relations, or a related combination of post-secondary studies and certification from the International Association of Business Communicators or Canadian Public Relations Society or similar; or an acceptable combination of experience and education may be considered.
- 3+ years full-time experience within an organization planning and executing internal or corporate communications initiatives, including key message development, employee engagement initiatives and content creation.
- Experience in conceptualizing, planning and creating internal or corporate communications projects, including content development, to enhance culture and support business outcomes.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an affinity for plain language and the ability to make the complex simple.
- Demonstrated event planning experience.
- Proven ability to take initiative and influence and engage stakeholders.
- Proven experience in editorial and/or content management.
- Good eye for design and the ability to collaborate with graphic designers to bring concepts to life.
- Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Canva.
- Familiarity with intranet content management systems; SharePoint an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an integral member of a communications team; strong interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Flexible and open to changing priorities and prioritizing and managing multiple tasks with compressed deadlines.

***What JIBC Offers**:
We offer a total compensation package that includes Extended Health and Dental Benefits, and enrollment in the Municipal Pension Plan after six months. In addition, we offer 15 vacation days annually (pro-rated in first year), as well as other generous leave entitlements.
**Salary Range**:
$61,898.76 to $70,302.96 per annum (BCGEU Pay Grid 18)
