Bedford, Canada St Barbara Atlantic Operations Full time

St Barbara is searching for great people like you to fill a full time permanent role as the Projects Officer at our office in Bedford, NS. At St Barbara, you’ll be part of a team working safely to create enduring, positive impacts on your community and the world at large.

**Schedule**
- Full Time permanent role, 40 hours per week.
- 5 days on, 2 days off, Monday - Friday.

**_ Technical accountabilities_**

1. Maintaining safety leadership through nurturing the Safety Always culture, ensuring conditions for safe work practices and actively demonstrating visual leadership;
2. Supporting the execution and coordination of project studies and field work, ranging from Preliminary Economic Assessments to Detailed Engineering and various Trade off studies;
3. Updating and maintaining of the Atlantic Province Plan along with scheduling, cost controls and document controls;
4. Integrating engineering, environmental and permitting disciplines to support scoping, budgeting and risk identification for Atlantic Province Plan;
5. Effectively support evaluation studies to identify and develop robust business cases;
7. Participating in project risk and opportunity identification, assessment, and communication to avoid adverse impacts on the project or the company;
8. Facilitating the land tenure and lease strategy development and provide timely and accurate advice to key internal stakeholders on land management matters such as land ownership, land leases, mineral leases, easements, sub-division strata, land development and town planning as required; and

9. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Land Management database and ensuring that all records are accurate, up to date, fit for purpose and operating in accordance with the system design and timely mitigation actions are initiated where warranted.

**_ Scheduling accountabilities_**

10. Maintaining a project and land tracking system with appropriate dashboards and databases which allow milestone timing, decision points and costs to be reported and forecast and critical risks to be identified and communicated; and

11. Coordinating multiple projects in a timely and effective manner to ensure cost effective delivery of each.

**_ People accountabilities_**

12. Coordinate resources and consultants for the effective delivery of projects, land access and leases.

13. Maintain proper contractor management according to St Barbara’s policies and procedures; and

14. Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements and taking appropriate professional development actions.

**Essential**
- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values;
- Relevant engineering, geology or mining related degree qualification;
- At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience;
- Project experience and/or track record for delivering outcomes;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and report writing;
- High energy with strong interpersonal skills and the desire to deliver; and
- Tenacious, results driven.

**Desirable**
- Experience with Land Management considered an asset.
