**Assistant Director of Care**_**(Permanent Full Time)**_

The Algonquin Nursing Home is a bilingual 73-bed long-term care facility located in the town of Mattawa, Ontario, and is sponsored by the Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario, licensed under the Ministry of Health, and accredited by Accreditation Canada. The Home’s goal is to use a team approach in order to provide a safe, clean, comfortable and pleasing home atmosphere for residents and their families.

**We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Director of Care (ADoC) to join our leadership team.**With a strong focus on quality, the ADoC drives the vision, mission and values of the Algonquin Nursing Home by putting the resident experience at the forefront of all decision making. The ADoC will work in collaboration with the Director of Care to embrace our resident-centred care model, while providing leadership, guidance, and support in best practices and excellence in service delivery to the nursing team. As a key member of the leadership team, the ADoC exercises critical thinking and is pivotal in the day-to-day operations of the Home. The ADoC fosters a supportive environment of growth, respect, learning, and development for our team members.

**Education/Certification Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
- Good standing with the College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
- Long Term Care Leadership Certificate or training an asset

**Experience Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a nursing leader in Long Term Care
- Experience developing and fostering a team environment to ensure effective delivery of service
- Experience dealing with complex and sensitive information with residents, families, physicians, staff members and external providers
- Experience with the administration of employment/organization policies and collective agreements
- Experience working with budgets and reporting requirements
- Experience ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

**Additional Competencies and Requirements**:

- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent strategic planning and critical thinking skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Demonstrated skills in team building, coaching and organizational development
- Bilingual (English and French) _(preferred)_
- Ability to work alternating weekends and overtime
- Ability to participate in “Administration On Call” rotation
- Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector required
- Negative 2-Step TB Skin Test required (within the last 6 months)
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. _Subject to accommodation obligations pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code._

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $95,335.00-$114,445.00 per year
