Fowler Construction is seeking an Area Patrol Supervisor to direct, supervise, schedule and manage operations for the Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract (CDMC) with the Ministry of Transportation for the Mattawa area.

**Key Duties**:

- Direct, manage, plan, and schedule patrollers.
- Maintain positive interaction and productive working relationships with office and technical staff, Ministry of Transportation (MTO) personnel, emergency personnel, and the travelling public.
- Ensure the patrollers and operators receive training and meet skill level requirements.
- Ensure patrollers and operators have the correct certifications and licenses to perform their work (e.g., AZ, DZ licenses, etc.).
- Manage recruitment, training, conditions of employment, performance and disciplinary processes, and ongoing development.
- Investigate incidents that are reported by patrollers and take the necessary actions; ensure accurate reporting and follow through with the MTO.
- Be aware of patrol route operations and conditions in the patrol yards.
- Communicate with the Project Manager regarding CDMC patrol risks and concerns.
- Manage sub-contractors and oversee all sub-contract work.
- Monitor sub-contractors’ performance through regular on-site observation and reporting to the project manager to ensure the work meets CDMC specifications and FCCL’s QMP and EMP/HSP.
- Monitor all available weather information and support patrollers in the decision-making process.
- Order materials for delivery to patrol yard.
- Responsible for entering, reviewing, and approving payroll.
- Complete numerous reports, for FCCL and for the MTO.
- Direct the start of operations, such as the Direct Liquid Application (DLA) process.
- Spot check patrol yards to assess conditions and ensure compliance to the QMP and EMP/HSP.
- Coordinate road closures with emergency services, school boards, townships, municipalities, etc.
- Be available for on-call duty as an after hours emergency contact.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to work cooperatively with a team.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license. DZ class license is recommended and preferred.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
- Be capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management.
- Strong organizational/analytical skills with clear oral and written communication abilities.
- Supervisory skills and previous experience in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in Highway Maintenance.

**Work Conditions**:

- Indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
- Available for on-call duty as an after hours emergency contact.
- Travel to various sites/locations will be required.
- Weekend and evening work may be required to meet the demands of the position.
