**About Us**

We are a full time Montessori Arts-based school for children. Established over 60 years ago, we offer a fresh approach to education in the Arts. We are located in the Kennedy and 401 area of Scarborough. Convenient to the highway and Scarborough Town Centre. Our modern facilities are adjacent to public transportation, and we have plenty of free parking.

**Key Duties**:

- Fluent in English
- Follow behaviour guidance and policies established by the center and consistent with accepted practice in the field
- Follow licensing requirements
- Assist in keeping safe, clean, and healthy learning environment for children
- Organize space, equipment and materials before activities
- Act as a role model of appropriate behaviour
- Supervise and facilitate Indoor and outdoor activities
- Standing, bending, crouching, some lifting
- Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities
- Establish and carry out a daily activity schedule that incorporates child directed activity, care routines and transition times
- Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations
- Use a variety of teaching techniques including modelling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing
- Encourage and assist children to practice self-help daily
- Carry out the responsibilities and tasks as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Registered ECE preferred
- AMI/ Montessori Experience preferred
- Upon hiring must obtain new Police Check (vulnerable sector) and up-to-date Immunizations (including TB screenings)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification is mandatory
- Valid Food handling certificate
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong behavior management techniques
- Previous experience working with children aged 2 to 5 years
- Strong programming and observational skills

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- French language is an asset
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation
- Basic knife handling skills
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to lift over 30 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to measure ingredients accurately
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Ability to understand and carry out directions
- Dance experience is a plus (Ballet, Acrobat, Tap,...)
- Violin experience is an asset
- COVID Vaccination - (Min. 2 dose)

**Weekly Schedule**

Monday to Friday

Reporting Relationship - you will report to the School Administrator

Uniform is required (Black Lululemon t-shirt and black legging)

**Salary: $19.00 per hour**
