Urban Nature Store is seeking a part-time Team Member for our Kingston store located at 645 Gardiners Road. Required Skills and Qualifications - 1 year of retail or service related experience (Pet, birding or garden sector experience would be an asset) - An interest in wild birding - Strong retail merchandising skills - Open availability - Days, evenings & weekends. - Ability to read, write and speak English - Basic math skills as it relates to retail sales - Intermediate computer skills - Ability to work independently - Ability to lift 50 lbs bags - Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store - Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for: - interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, including recommending appropriate products and demonstrating their proper usage. - processing transactions on a computerized POS system - accepting all forms of payments (cash, debit, credit) - processing returns and exchanges - assisting with the maintenance of several Google spreadsheets - promotion of our loyalty rewards program - receiving bi-weekly shipments - filling seed from master to smaller bags - maintaining a clean, organized and well-merchandised store **Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent Pay: From $17.20 per hour Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week **Benefits**: - On-site parking - Store discount Flexible language requirement: - French not required Shift: - Afternoon shift - Day shift - Morning shift Work days: - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed **Education**: - Secondary School (required) **Experience**: - POS: 1 year (required) - Retail sales: 1 year (required) **Language**: - English (required) Work Location: In person
