**The Chateau Nova Yellowhead is looking for a Banquet Server / Porter.**: Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager/Supervisor the Banquet Porter/Server is a food service professional overseeing each aspect of the banquet/catering function from setup through service to the tear down and cleanup. They liaise with the client to ensure guest satisfaction. This position requires excellent customer service and ability to work under pressure. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** - Promoting a "No Problem Service" environment - Assigns duties to each Team member for every event - Is in constant contact with the host to ensure everything runs seamlessly - Supervises service throughout the function to ensure quality service and product quality - Be energetic and enthusiastic; enjoy customer service and working with the public - Be knowledgeable about the function and the menu being offered by participating in the pre-function meetings - Assist with the set-up execution and tear-down of banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc - Required to physically work the floor at events, pinch hitting as a server or runner - Perform well under pressure in a fast paced and sometimes challenging environment **JOB DUTIES** - Excellent communication skills required - Professional appearance and attitude - Time management skills - Knowledge of health and safety regulations is required - Knowledge of the products, facility, sector and industry - Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the service area - Perform opening/closing and side duties as per the shift checklist - Involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping; Often lifting, pushing or pulling items between 5- 50 lbs
