**Some of what you will do**

As the Retail Technology Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for evaluating and implementing new solutions, and delivering new proof-of-concept projects at Staples for both employees and customers. This role is the conduit between the Technology team and the lines of business. You will translate the requirements from the business teams, and have an understanding of its execution from a technology perspective. You will build relationships and liaises with various stakeholders, internal and external, to understand the impact of any changes to products or services on our employee processes and customer engagement.

**Specifically, you will**:

- Work with business stakeholders to identify solutions which enable their line of business
- Champion the needs of the business throughout the product lifecycle and ensuring what is delivered meets the original objectives
- Ensure successful product delivery by proactively identifying risk and implementations migrations
- Partner with vendors on current and future product needs. Support the requests for quotes (RFQ) process with vendors, including analysis of vendor options when exploring new vendor relationships.
- Identify, communicate and/or escalate issues, risks/dependencies, change requests and status to manage stakeholders’ expectations.

**Some of what you need**:
**Knowledge/Skills**:

- 8 years working as a business analyst, product owner/manager or technical role within the retail industry. Versed in Point Of Sales technologies is an asset.
- 5+ years in large scale technology implementations across an organization
- Strong knowledge of emerging or available retail products and solutions
- Degree in business, economics or engineering with relevant work experience
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of IT Retail Technology and Infrastructure.
- Digital first mindset and comfort with ambiguity
- Staying up to date on new technologies and how the industry is changing
- Ability to distill complex details into a concise and clean manner for decision making purposes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Strong business acumen, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability in leading and managing cross-functional teams

- Being bilingual is an asset - Communication may be required with Staples head office associates or customers who reside outside of Ontario
