**JOB DESCRIPTION - Manager, Communications & Development**

**Title**:Communications & Development Manager
**Reports to**:CEO
**Direct Reports**: Communications/Marketing Interns (1 to 2 at a time)
**Summary**:
**Job Responsibilities Include**:
- Communications/Marketing _
- Responsible for research, content preparation, and execution for both internal and external communications on multiple platforms.
- Maintain Agency website and social media accounts; ensure online content is accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to internal and external stakeholder partnerships to inform, support and strengthen Westcoast Family Centres Society relationships with communities, donors, staff and other stakeholders
- Oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, speeches, presentations, press releases, newsletters and staff bulletins
- Maintain relationships, coordinate liaisons with other agencies, professionals, government officials and our community partners.
- Establish and cultivate strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organization and external community.
- Create and maintain all pertinent confidential documentation including letters of agreements and memorandums; and general correspondence including letters of acknowledgment, appreciation, and grant award.
- Prepare executive reports, briefs, speeches, presentations, and press releases for executive leadership and board of directors.
- Develop and implement new marketing strategies to increase community engagement and overall agency awareness of programs and services.
- Development/Fundraising _
- Research new fundraising opportunities and increase revenue streams from donations, sponsorships and fundraising activities.
- Conduct fundraising activities, donor cultivation, stewardship, monitoring, and solicitation.
- Maintain and track donation funds; including donor recognition and engagement of donors, with support from the Finance team.
- Conduct research to identify individual, government, and corporate donor prospects.
- Research on innovative services and programs to grow our commitment to children, families, and communities.
- Project Management & Event Planning _
- Partake in Agency committees to ensure execution and compliance on agency policies and procedures.
- Project lead on agency-wide internal and external events.
- Provide project coordination on initiatives such as programs, events, and reports.
- Provide strategic support to the executive team and board of directors on executing program and/or operational changes.
- Oversight and supervision of co-op students and interns.
- Other job duties as required.
**Education/Qualifications**:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Business, etc.)
- Relevant work experience in fundraising, project management and/or communication. Not-for-profit experience considered an asset.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong writing/editing and oral/interpersonal communication skills
- Positive, professional demeanor. Comfortable with donor relations and community engagement.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities; superior attention to detail and deadline oriented.
- Proficient in a range of computer software programs, particularly Microsoft Office and online tools: CRM, constant contact, survey monkey, Canva etc.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
