**Assistant Controller**
The Assistant Controller provides financial oversight of our Ice District Hospitality (IDH) division operated by our Food & Beverage partner. In this role, you will work closely with our F&B partner ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all financial reporting requirements. You will also be integral in the budgeting process and establishing financial targets and KPI’s. The Assistant Controller will also provide financial oversight of our Retail operations and will bring hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles to perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses.
**Core Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Review all Food & Beverage and Retail event reports and financial statements for completeness, accuracy and performance against budget
- Serve as primary financial support to OEG’s VP, Hospitality
- Work with accounting coordinators to ensure accuracy of invoices received from Compass and Rank & Rally
- Provides financial analysis of operations and accounting information to apprise stakeholders of key operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, cash flow and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
- Provides revenue forecasting and analysis and assists with corporate scorecard preparation
- Works closely with Compass during the budget processes to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets
- Provides financial analysis of potential Hospitality capital improvements
- Assists with annual financial statement audit, including preparation and review of audit working papers, and coordination with external auditors
- Maintain accounting controls by supporting Finance Department policies and procedures
**Education, Experience and Skills**:
- Post-Secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree required
- Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation is an asset
- Minimum 5 years in an accounting background or related field
- Detail focused, strong business acumen and well versed in financial reporting and analysis
- Deadline oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with computerized accounting software (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, etc.) and possess strong Excel skills
