**Position Summary**

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of 102 residents in a senior living environment. This role ensures food safety, quality, and presentation standards are maintained while creating a positive dining experience. Currently we are looking for someone who can work 11a-7pm shift.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements (including therapeutic diets).
- Ensure portion control and attractive presentation of meals
- Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and labeling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
- Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
- Communicate with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction with meals.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Minimize waste and manage leftovers appropriately.
- Work closely with dietary staff and servers to ensure timely meal service.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
- Red seal certifictaion is an asset.
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and therapeutic diets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lethbridge, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
