Heavy Duty Technician (On-Road & Off-Road Equipment)
CBO Earthworks - Lacombe, AB
- Full-time | Shop & Field Service_
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment and highway vehicles, both in the shop and in the field
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with manufacturer specs and company service intervals
- Respond to field service calls and troubleshoot urgent equipment breakdowns on job sites
- Maintain accurate work orders, service logs, and parts usage records
- Work independently or alongside team members to complete repairs safely and efficiently
- Communicate repair needs and timelines to supervisors and operators
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OH&S standards and company policies
Fleet Includes: Off-Road Equipment:
- Dozers, Excavators (Hoes), Skid Steers, Graders
- Rollers, Packers, Backhoes, Rock Trucks
- Pavers, Gravel Crushers, and auxiliary equipment
On-Road Equipment:
- Gravel Trucks, Tandem Semi Trucks, Dump Trailers
- Tilt-deck and Lowboy Trailers, Service Trucks, Pickup Trucks
Qualifications:
- Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred)
- Valid Journeyman Ticket for Off-Road Equipment
- Valid CVIP certification or On-Road Journeyman Ticket for highway equipment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in remote environments
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- Proficient with electronic diagnostic tools and maintenance recordkeeping
- Committed to safety, efficiency, and teamwork
Job Details:
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Work Locations: CBO Shop (Lacombe) and field locations across Central Alberta
- Schedule: Monday to Friday and occasionaly a Saturday. 10-12 hour shifts with regular overtime
