Linc (Eal) Instructor

**Job Summary**
This position contributes to adult newcomers’ successful integration to Canada by fostering their English language skill development in a client-centered, real-world task-based classroom learning environment. The Instructor will plan effective modules and activities which motivate learners to learn, practice and demonstrate their English language competencies in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
**Class Level Range**:Literacy to CLB5
- Please note that this is a term assignment to March 14, 2025, with potential for extension._
**Duties**
- Use proactive communication skills and classroom management strategies to maintain a client-centered environment which is respectful of the diversity of staff and clients
- Ensures funder contractual obligations are met or exceeded in the context of CFN’s vision and workplace values.
- Respects the diversity of clients’ backgrounds, learning styles
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
- Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to engage students.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and observations, providing timely feedback.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in EAL or ESL or related field preferred;
- At least two years experience in teaching EAL
- A minimum of 300 hours implementing PBLA in a LINC class
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills to connect with students of varying backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using technology for instruction and classroom management is an advantage.
Pay: $39.30 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
