Independent Paper Converters is looking for an Full-time Large format Flexo stack press operator to assist in the production of various packaging goods.

Independent Paper Converters has been producing quality paper and laminated products since 1978.

We are a family-owned business located in Guelph, Ontario.

We are the largest Canadian manufacturer of plain and printed water-activated kraft and non-reinforced sealing tapes.

We also manufacture self-sticking cohesive kraft papers for the packaging industry, poly/tissue dairy and meat case liners and meat/fish pads for the retail food industry, as well as cohesive/cold seal products, such as furniture wrap and giblet wrap.

**Hours of Work**:Mon-Fri and overtime as required

**Salary/Wage**:To be negotiated -Based on experience

**Start Date**:As soon as possible

**Own Tools/Equipment**:Steel-toed safety boots

**Purpose**

To set up, operate and maintain a 4 colour stack flexographic printing press

**Job Requirements/Skills**

Able to work safely and with little to no supervision

Able to conduct tests and inspections of product or processes to evaluate quality and performance

Able to monitor the press to make sure the machine is set up and working properly

Able to understand written instructions in work related documents

Able to listen to others and give full attention to the points being made

Able to monitor and assess machine performance and make improvements and/or take action when needed

**Essential Functions/Duties**

Pushes buttons, turn handles or move controls to start printing machine or manually control equipment operation

Turns, pushes or moves controls to set and adjust speed, ink flow, pressures, and position of paper to run press

Selects and installs printing plates, rollers, cylinders and guards, using the proper tools for the job

Loads, positions and adjusts paper into or off of the unwind and rewind stands

Review work order to determine paper type, ink colours and lineal footage required to meet production requirement

Cleans and lubricates printing machine and components using grease gun, oils brushes and rags

Pours ink into pails checking viscosity and PH as required and document

Directs printer helper

Keeps a record of activity, time sheet, materials and lineal footage run for each order

Identifies and labels all finished rolls going to the next operation

Achieve company accountabilities

**Physical Requirements**

Standing up to 90% of the day

Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds

**Education/Experience**

High School/GED or equivalent

**1-3 years of Flexo Printing experience required**
