Spanish/paella Cook

**Tapagria Spanish Tapas Restaurant**

We are a Spanish Tapas style restaurant and bar. Our goal is to bring authentic Spanish dishes and a vibrant dining experience to the suburbs of Toronto. Some of the features will include an open kitchen, fresh seafood, private dining, imported ingredients, and sangria menu.

**Summary**:
This position is great for someone with the background in Spanish Cuisine, expeically, paella making and looking to gain more experience in a high-end fast-paced restaraurant. Under the guidance and supervision of the head chef you’ll be prepping and cooking in various different stations of the kitchen, with a focus on the paella station.

As a cook of the restaurant some of your key duties and responsibilities under the guidance of the head chef/sous-chefs would include:

- Doing prep work for any of the stations in the restaurant
- Working the paella station and hot line/cold bar.
- Helping kitchen management by informing about any items running low or nearing expiry dates.
- Following health & safety guidelines
- Keeping accurate records in regards to food preparation - shelf life, temperatures, etc.
- Setting up and breaking down your station.

**Experience and Skill-set Required**:

- Someone who is motivated, passionate and is looking to learn more about Spanish cuisine
- Extremely well organized and have great time management and planning skills.
- Written & oral English skills
- General cooking knowledge - seafood, meats, vegetables.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Spanish Cuisine: 2 years (preferred)
- Cook: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
