Position Overview

The Police Administration Department at the RCMP Detachment requires a regular full-time Crisis Intervention Worker.

**Responsibilities**:
You will provide immediate crisis intervention assistance to victims, their families, and/or witnesses of trauma and/or crime, in cases such as sudden deaths, suicides, family disputes, and domestic assaults, and assist with next-of-kin notifications. You will also provide victim services to individuals and families as a follow up to crisis intervention, a referral from a police investigation or a community resource, recommend remedial action and refer clients to other agencies or services as appropriate. Crisis intervention assistance may be provided at scenes of incidents where violence, serious injury or death may have occurred immediately prior to your arrival.

**Requirements**:
You have a university degree in Social Work or Psychology as well as training and experience in crisis intervention and victim support services, and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional requirements include: - A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. - Your own reliable transportation for which remuneration will be provided. - A declaration being free of conflicts of interest with other activities outside of crisis intervention employment (eg. activities involving an overlap of client groups, working with offenders while working with victims of crime, etc.).

Compensation
$34.96 to $41.16 per hour (January 2021 rates) Pay Grade 22

Hours of Work
Seven (7) consecutive hours exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm, any five (5) consecutive days of seven (7). The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.

Additional Information
You will also be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
