SLSC is located in Cochrane, AB. **About the Position** SLSC is looking for a confident, self-motivated role model and leader to join our Programs team to support the successful daily operations of registered and drop-in recreation programs and activities. Under the direction of the Rec Programs Supervisor and Coordinator, the Programs Team Lead provides critical leadership, guidance, orientation, and training to the programs staff team (Recreation Attendants). This position works collaboratively with the Programs team members and all departments to ensure exceptional customer service (externally and internally), effective organization and prep for activities/rentals/bookings, and quality programming **Job Type**:Part-time, Hourly, year-round **Start Date**: ASAP **Schedule/Availability Required**: Includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends (specifically looking for Fri/Sat night availability). - Must maintain availability for at least one weekend shift per week (Sat or Sun) - Must be available to work full 8-hour shifts ("open" or "close") - i.e. 7:30am-4:00pm or 1:00pm-9:30pm. _Hours may fluctuate based on event/booking schedules._ **Specific responsibilities**: - Responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of Rec Attendant activities, including leading the successful completion of set-up and tear down of all facility bookings on the Turf, Gym, Arenas, Rooms, and other facility locations as required. - People Leadership- Daily communication of pertinent information to Rec Programs staff, such as information from programs, marketing, bookings and events, management, Health & Safety, etc. - Support the Supervisor & Coordinator with training of new and ongoing Rec Attendants. - Support the Supervisor & Coordinator with ensuring that programs staff are consistently on task, producing quality work, following policies and procedures, and maintaining a professional & respectful demeanor. - Supervise programs staff and provide in-the-moment coaching and ongoing mentoring. Escalate staffing issues that require more formal performance management to the Coordinator & Supervisor. - Plan and implement team-specific ERP/incident drills to maintain confidence in training. - Monitor, role model, and actively work to enhance team morale, positivity, and professionalism. - Become proficient with our CRM/program registration software, pull reports and information as required to support programming (e.g., set up and tear down). - Monitor drop-in activities and recommend changes as necessary (e.g., wristband checks, manage capacities); collect drop-in activity stats, track and trend statistical data for supervisors. - Work to stay up to date on facility information, using available resources and asking questions where appropriate to ensure expert knowledge on the daily events and needs at SLSC. - Conduct inspections and inventory of recreation equipment and materials (e.g., sports equipment) ensuring equipment is safe and in optimal working condition. Submit work orders if equipment requires maintenance. - Provide support for recreational areas as assigned (i.e., Special Events,) including trouble-shooting facility booking issues and staff scheduling issues in the absence of the Supervisor and Coordinator. - Respond to facility emergencies as Lead Area Warden for the team, which may include area sweeps and evacuation procedures, first aid requests, theft, and other incidents, working closely with Duty Managers, Operations, and Health & Safety in alignment with SLSC policies and procedures. - Ensure timely, consistent, accurate, and fact-based reporting (incidents, maintenance, end-of-shift reports). - Respond to patron inquiries and provide facility orientations as needed. - Enforce policies and guidelines for programs and activities, with particular attention to higher-risk areas such as the climbing centre or bouncers. - Effective communication to Experience Dept Leadership, Operations, Health & Safety, and others for follow-up on issues related to customer experience, hazards/safety risks, incidents and concerns at the facility. Use sound judgement and effective communication skills to resolve issues in the moment and ensure proper follow-up. - Accountable for admin-based work, as assigned, directed, and/or scheduled. _Administration tasks always come second to the needs of customers and the programs team._ **Qualifications**: -
